Q:  How to make a cigarette on the Supermatic cigarette making machine?

Step 1:  Place cigarette machine with slip resistant mat (SM025) on a

sturdy non slippery surface.

Step 2:  Make sure the crank handle assembly (SM023) is in the open position all the way to the top left and slide the end of a cigarette tube on the nozzle.

Step 3:  The machine comes factory ready to produce KING SIZE cigarettes.  To produce 100mm SIZE cigarettes, remove the tube size adjustment tab (SM027).

Step 4:  Using Cigarette Rolling Tobacco, NOT Pipe Tobacco, fill the corners first, deposit tobacco evenly in the tobacco chamber.  (DO NOT PUSH DOWN TOO HARD OR PACK THE TOBACCO TOO TIGHTLY.)

Step 5:  While holding the grip handle (SM031), grab the crank handle assembly (SM023) and rotate clockwise in a smooth continuous motion then pull handle back in a smooth continuous motion.

Q:  My tubes are not getting filled all the way to the filter, how do I fix this?

A:  There could be several different reasons as to why this is happening.

  1. Your cigarette machine might need a good cleaning to remove all tobacco residue on the machine. (See Cleaning Machine)
  1. Tobacco could be pipe tobacco, too wet, dry or fine. (See Jamming Machine)
  1. The machine could be releasing your cigarette tubes too early. (See Releasing Cigarette Tubes Early)

Q:  How to clean the Supermatic cigarette making machine?

A:  The cigarette machine should be cleaned frequently to keep it in proper working order.

Step 1:  Rotate the crank handle assembly (SM023) several times without any tobacco in the machine to remove any excess tobacco from the tobacco chamber.  Keeping the crank handle assembly (SM023) in the open position, take a cotton swab with warm water or rubbing alcohol and clean the injector (SM001), tamper (SM010), tobacco chamber and nozzle the part you put the cigarette tube on.  This is to remove any tobacco residue that builds up during use.

Step 2:  Turn machine over and remove the slip resistant mat (SM025) on the bottom of the machine.  You can remove the excess tobacco and dust that falls into the bottom of the machine, using a can of air, vacuum, air compressor or a dry brush of some type.

Step 3:  After removing excess tobacco and dust from the bottom of the machine you should oil the machine frequently on all the moving parts under the slip resistant mat (SM025) with a multi-purpose household oil.  (IE:  WD-40, 3 in 1 oil, cooking oil, etc.)  Use a paper towel or cotton swab to apply oil.

Q:  How to make adjustment for the Supermatic cigarette making machine releasing cigarette tubes early?

A:  The best way to confirm that your cigarette machine is releasing the cigarette tubes early is to make a cigarette.  While trying to inject the tobacco into the tube, hold the rubber cover that holds your tubes on the nozzle with your finger.  If you can make some good cigarettes this way then the following adjustment will need to be done.  You may have to play with the adjustment a little while to get it right, so please be patient.

  1. Remove the slip resistant mat (SM025) from the machine
  2. In the corner where you put your tubes on the machine you will find the insert nut (SM002).
  3. Turn the insert nut (SM002) clock wise a hair and try the machine, you may need to turn it a few more times to get it in the place you need it.

Q: How do I fix my Supermatic cigarette making machine when it is jamming?

JAMMING:  This could be a few different reasons –

  1. Tobacco could be pipe tobacco, too wet, dry or fine.
  • The machine is not made for pipe tobacco which is too wet and dense of a tobacco for our machines and it will cause jamming, parts bending, breaking, not filling tubes, etc.
  • If the tobacco is too wet, you can dry out your tobacco by letting it sit out a little at a time (as much as you will use in one sitting) to dry it. Only do this for ½ hour to 1 hour at a time, any time beyond that could cause your tobacco to be too dry.
  • If it is too dry, try taking a wedge of an apple, the peel of an orange, or a damp paper towel and putting it in with the tobacco to moisten it.
  • If your tobacco is too fine, you need to buy another bag and mix it with that. Make sure to keep mixing your tobacco throughout its use, this helps keep the fine stuff from falling to the bottom so that all you end up with is fine tobacco.
  1. The injector (SM001) could be bent or narrowed. If this is the case the only way to fix it is to replace the injector.  Please contact our Service Center to order a new injector (SM001) or place an order using the website.
  1. The tamper (SM010) could be out of alignment due to dirt/use. If this is the case your machine is packing the tobacco at an angle so it will not go into a tube.  Therefore the tamper and housing unit needs to be cleaned. To do this remove the brass nuts (SM011) and hex screws (SM020) from the machine, you will then be able to slide the link assembly (SM018) up.  When you slide the link assembly (SM018) the tamper (SM010) will come with it.  You can remove the link assembly (SM018) from the tamper (SM010) and then you will take a cotton swab and warm water or rubbing alcohol to clean it.  Also clean the chamber where the tamper sits.  Put everything back together and the tamper should realign itself.
  1. If the injector lever assembly (SM016) is not sliding smoothly across the silver metallic channel where the injector (SM001) is positioned, it will seem like it is jamming.  This could be because of the flat head screw (SM013) being either too loose or too tight.  The flat head screw (SM013) should be snug but not tight, this will make it slide a little easier.   Then oil those parts, you can use any type of household oil.  (IE: WD-40, 3 in 1, cooking oil, etc.) NEVER USE VASELINE, which will just collect all the tobacco dust and cause your machine to malfunction.

Q:  My cigarette tubes are ripping at the tip / taking a notch off the end, how do I fix?

A:  What is happening is your Supermatic cigarette making machine is holding your tube just a fraction of a second too long.  To fix this you will do the following:

  1. Remove the slip resistant mat (SM025) from the machine
  2. In the corner where you put your tubes on the machine you will find the insert nut (SM002).
  3. Turn the insert nut (SM002) counter clockwise (loosen) a hair at a time and it will stop the machine from tearing the tip off the end of the tubes.
